Rowan Larson
I am the Rev. Rowan Larson (they/them) and currently serve as the rector of St. James Parish in Bozeman, MT and the Vice President for Grants of the United Thank Offering (UTO), a ministry of gratitude for the whole church. I have served at every level of church leadership--parish, diocesan, provincial, serving on an interim body (House of Deputies State of the Church Committee 2022-2024), and through UTO, working with the whole of TEC and the Anglican Communion. I ask your consideration for election to Executive Council to bring a fresh perspective on church vitality in the midst of an uncertain present and future. I am comfortable sitting in fear and anxiety (of systems and my own) and yet being able to lead collaboratively through it. The Episcopal Church often talks about being an Easter people, but we are often afraid to talk about Holy Saturday, let alone to acknowledge that we are living it. I know what it is to be denied a seat at the table, to feel marginalized by the human institution that is this church, yet remain faithful to the call that God has placed on my and all of our hearts as faithful Christians and trying to ensure the continued flourishing of the Episcopal branch of the Jesus movement.
