Karen Coleman
I serve as University Chaplain for Episcopal Ministry at Boston University and Priest Associate at Trinity Episcopal Church in Boston. I have extensive churchwide experience, including being a two-time deputy to the General Convention, an appointee to the Title IV Committee, and serving on the Real Estate Investment Committee. I am also President of the Standing Committee and a board member of the Massachusetts Council of Churches. My community involvement includes roles in the Comprehensive Town Wide Campaign and the Ashland Historical Commission. At Boston University, I represent Diversity and Inclusion and participate in the Dean of Students Department Panel. With ten years in parish ministry and previous service on various diocesan committees, I currently oversee the nomination, election, and consecration of a new Bishop. I hold a B.A. in Art History, an MDIV, and a DMin, with my thesis focusing on Episcopal female clergy leaders of African heritage. My role on campus involves engaging with a diverse population through workshops, classes, and committees, fostering inclusivity and seeing all as children of God.
